An extremely edited version of how I became the performer I am today:
I was born in New York and have been performing and creating characters ever since. Acting in every school play and neighborhood drama class that I could get my hands on. I have always been intrigued with the process of developing a world outside of one’s perceived reality. My favorite pastime as a child was making up plays that cost a penny admission.
After receiving my B.A. in theater, I drove my Volkswagon bus across the country to San Francisco with the hopes of pursuing a successful acting career. Instead, I accidentally ended up in a Clown troupe! I became fascinated with the Clown archetype. The Jester and the Trickster--- a character who was allowed to make the sacred profane and the profane sacred. WOW!!! Eventually I escaped the clown troupe and studied at the Dell Arte School for Physical Theater and the San Francisco Circus School. For over 18 years now I have been entertaining audiences both small and large as a wide variety of characters including Rosy Rosebud the Clown, Mari the Mime and a plethora of other aspects of myself. In all my work my mission has always been to return my clients and audiences to a sense of magic, where they truly believe that anything is possible and they can make miracles happen
I have performed in numerous productions including dramas, musical comedy and children’s theater. One of my favorite roles was combining my love of acting and clowning by playing Costard in Loves Labors Lost at the Valley Shakespeare Festival.
In 2007 I attended my first Magic Convention and was struck by the lack of women in the conjuring arts. It also hit me like a brick……. Hello? My mission is to help people remember REAL MAGIC. What better way then becoming a first rate magician. At the convention I met famed magician Jeff Mcbride, and later attended his world renowned Magic and Mystery School in Las Vegas. It was at this school that I discovered mind reading and playing cards and how natural and powerful these forms of magic are for me.
After spending many months in Greece researching the ancient Greek theaters I have become passionate about using theater the way it was meant to be…. transformation. The ancient Greeks understood that theater was far more then entertainment. They knew that live performance was meant to take the actors and the audience on a transformational cathartic journey. Whether I am performing my big stage show at a theater or close-up magic at a corporate holiday party, I am committed to inspiring my audiences into believing in their own abilities to make magic happen.
I share my extensive experience with children and adults through leading workshops, teaching, writing and directing. In my classes I often have my students create their own characters and storyline, in this way they also discover their power in creating.
